According to Student Missions Fellowship president Don Schaeffer, when a student goes on a mission trip for their senior internship, the cost can be up to thousands of dollars. That is why it is crucial for such organizations like SMF to hold fundraisers for these students and other missionaries on campus.
As one of their fundraisers, SMF is hosting a TFC Talent Show this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Student Lounge. All students and faculty are invited to this event, to see what talent TFC has to offer.
Admission is free, but members of SMF will be selling baked goods as a way of raising money for their summer mission trips. All of the money earned at the talent show will go into the “internship pot”, which is divided out among the students going on internships as missionaries, based on their involvement in SMF.
“SMF’s main goal is to spread mission’s awareness on campus and to pray for our missionaries,” Schaeffer said. “But this Saturday we wanted to give students an opportunity to be a part of something fun on campus.”
The top three winners of the talent show will receive a medal, along with a free baked good.
The students’ talent will be judged by Dean of Women, Debbie Moore, Professor Griffin and Professor Mehl. So far, students have signed up to perform musical numbers, dramas, cultural dances, and more.
Come support our student missionaries and share in the talent at TFC.
